We have reason to celebrate today!
My daughter started third grade this year. She was very nervous at the beginning of the year. She was anxious about her new teacher and what she'd learn. And she worried about SOLs, which aren't until the end of the year!
She just received her first "real-grade" report card. She was THRILLED to tell us she made Principal's Honor Roll and showed us her certificate...that the Principal signed...hello! ;)
I'm over the moon about my daughter's accomplishment. She's worked so hard this first quarter. Some subjects come naturally, while others can present a challenge. I'm sure that's the case for pretty much every kid. My daughter has really applied herself and has shown a genuine interest in pushing herself past her comfort zone.
So we're celebrating this evening! We're taking her out to dinner and then who knows what after.
Does your family celebrate honor roll accomplishments? If so, what do you do?
Be open to what comes.
