Back in October, I selected a theme for each day of the week that aligned with my interests. I made this change to the blog after focusing on my health for 30 consecutive days. Doing so made me realize that I was being more reactive with the blog than proactive. Focusing on my health helped me prioritize something that I said was important earlier in the year and gave me a sense of control over my blog posts. I continued that focus on my health by creating Wellness Wednesday.
On this, my 11th and final Wellness Wednesday, I find myself in the throes of the holidays and indulging ALOT. I gained back five pounds that I had lost! I don't feel terrible about it, though. I enjoyed the goodies and flavors of the season...and at a reasonable cost. (Baking with healthy ingredients like almond flour, coconut sugar and the like, is EXPENSIVE! I couldn't make all that I did without going broke.)
Reflecting on Wellness Wednesdays has made me appreciate all that goes into health and wellness. I didn't write solely about weight and food. I also wrote about stress, sleep, endocrine disruptors, and mental health. Our bodies are integrated beyond our understanding. There's a lot that plays into our overall wellness that we must consider.
I'm grateful for Wellness Wednesdays, and the 30-day focus solely on my health. I have responsibility for my health and need to be conscious of it every day with every bite. It's hard to do, but completely and utterly possible. I did it...just not consistently. I'll continue to practice at it and, hopefully, get better.
If you're struggling with health/wellness matters, I do hope you realize you have control to make the progress you desire. Be well and...
Be open to what comes.
