Becoming more conscious about everything in my life has helped me transition over the years. I'm calmer. I'm more grateful. I'm just plain happier.
Most of my posts are about just that — how my consciousness helps to continue a positive mindset and outlook on life.
But I don't want anyone to get confused. Consciousness is not about being happy all the time. It simply the act of increasing awareness of thoughts, feelings and actions and the reasons behind them.
So today, I'm consciously happy that a new washing machine is in my future. I love new, shiny, properly-working things. Functioning household appliances make life easier. And I'm excited that I may have one in about two day's time.
I'm also consciously pissed. I'm irritated that the washing machine broke. (I bought a home once that had a 30-year old refrigerator in it...and it still worked nearly a decade later when I sold it!). I'm annoyed that appliances aren't made like they used to be.
This is NOT something I wanted to be addressing this weekend, even though I want a washing machine that WORKS! Grrr...
Be open to what comes.
