Balance. It's a word I hear from moms. All. The. Time.
Many moms want a more balanced life. Sometimes when I ask what balance looks like for them, they can't answer. In those instances, asking them what they want more of sparks some clarity and guidance about where they feel things are imbalanced. And, if I'm lucky enough to serve them as a life coach, I help them attain their desired goal(s).
My life is so beautifully balanced right now between work and my family that it's almost insane to think about. Just one short year ago, I was working full-time at a pretty demanding job, chairing a significant event for my daughter's school, and heavily invested in becoming a life coach. While I wanted to do all those things, I knew that doing them simultaneously was a sacrifice that I could handle only for so long. The school event finally concluded and I considered it a tremendous success. But, between work and school, something still had to give. Work gave. I changed my schedule from full-time to part-time and have never looked back.
As I've said before, balance is not something you attain, it's an action you must take whenever it's necessary. Our lives are dynamic. Our needs and desires evolve and morph in relation to our own growth and in response to the happenings in our lives. Balance isn't a destination; it's part of the journey.
Sometimes we're not quite sure what we want or what we're lacking. We just know we're not happy. It may be a challenge to articulate the change we desire. We may feel stuck.
What is it that you want more of in life? What's your plan to get it? If you're stuck, let me know. I may be able to help.
Be open to what comes.
