Many American's celebrate Father's Day, a day to honor a "dad" that's had a positive influence on their life. This may be a biological dad, step-dad, adopted dad, granddad, uncle, or any other male figure that is considered to be like a dad.
Today, I spent the day honoring my husband. This is important to me, not just because I value family, but because he deserves it. My husband does so much for our family. And while I do give thanks often, I still use this day to try and show him just how much he is loved and appreciated.
He was prohibited from doing anything all weekend, like cooking, dishes, laundry, trash, etc. (Yes, I'm one of the lucky ones...he DOES do all those things!) He got to choose what he wanted to do, what he wanted to eat, when he wanted to wake up, etc. He was in control of pretty much the whole weekend. We did surprise him on Saturday, but that's because he said he was up for it.
My husband is sincerely one-of-a-kind and I couldn't be more blessed to have him as my husband. He's a fantastic father and I hope we showed him this weekend just how much he is loved.
Big shout outs to my dad and my brother too. I'm sorry I couldn't be with you today to show you how much you are loved. But please know that you are, immeasurably.
Wishing all the fathers reading this a most wonderful Father's Day.
Be open to what comes.
