We all have beliefs and values that shape how we live our lives and how we raise our children. I don’t believe most take the time to think about what they believe and value and why. Why would we really? For most everyone, our lives just work. It’s only when we feel the pull for something different than what we have that we likely embark on such a journey of reflection.
That very reason is what propelled me to assess my beliefs and values. Just last year I embarked to become a life coach. While I signed up thinking I’d learn how to help others shape their lives and live their dreams, I had no idea the transformation it would create within me. It was the most intense and awesome journey, and it’s changed me forever…for the better.
I had certainly given some thought to my legacy—what my life meant and stood for—when my daughter was born nearly ten years ago. With that said, I hadn’t done a whole lot before last year to really evaluate my life. That’s all changed now. Nearly everything I do is with an eye on my legacy. In essence, I try to ensure that what I devote my time to aligns with what I believe and value. Life seems to hum seamlessly when I make this effort. I believe it’s what produces a life of meaning.
If your life is AWESOME, I ask you: What do you believe? What do you value? Why?
If your life isn’t awesome, I still ask you: What do you believe? What do you value? Why?
I promise giving some thought to these questions will open your eyes!
Be open to what comes.
