I'm taking a moment today to reflect on my in-laws. My father-in-law passed away 36 years ago today. My husband was only 14 at the time.
While I never got the chance to meet my father-in-law, I feel like I know him. I'm told that my husband has many of his mannerisms. I've heard story after story, including pranks he'd play on my mother-in-law. My daughter calls my husband a "tricky trickster." Hmmm... Definitely sounds like the apple doesn't fall too far from the tree.
My mother-in-law always shared fond memories of my father-in-law. She missed him dearly. And while she suffered from dementia in her later years, I know she is reunited with the love of her life. My heart is warmed thinking of them together as opposed to her suffering another anniversary of his death.
I honor their love today, as I know love is a bond that is never broken.
Be open to what comes.
