I was recently introduced to a nutritional supplement bar from a company named Luna. This company makes nutritional bars geared specifically toward women. I really like many of the flavors and usually put one in my lunch bag, just in case I don't have time to get to a normal lunch.
Not only do the bars taste great, but they also put inspirational messages or quotes on the package. The one that I read today was "great things never came from comfort zones."
I got to thinking about the statement. It was so inspirational and so true!
When we are in our comfort zones — in the space we frequent, that feels safe and typical — our lives normally remain the same. It's only when we stretch ourselves that we experience something different and realize what we're truly capable of.
Last year was one such time for me. I jumped on the uncomfortable train, and not just once! I embarked on the life-changing pursuit to become a life coach. (I never intended for it to be transformational for me, but that's what ended up happening.) I also decided to chair a large school event last year. I had never done anything like that before, and pulled it off, with lots of other wonderful women. Meanwhile, I was holding my boss' job down temporarily, which was completely outside of my comfort zone!
We can accomplish so many great things, but only if we're willing to try.
If you are stressed out where you are in life, it may be the universe's way of nudging you to change. We normally don't change because we're scared — scared of failing, scared of leaving the comfort of our normal. But if you are yearning for something different, you gotta get out of your comfort zone.
How uncomfortable are you willing to get?
Be open to what comes.
