It's Day 8 of 30!
Two times over the past week, I consumed drinks that I had pretty much eliminated: coffee and Sprite. Upon first drink, neither tasted like I remembered. The coffee didn't hold the same comfort as it once did. I realized this, but kept drinking. After a while, that comforting feeling started to return. My experience with the Sprite was similar. Upon first swallow, I was not impressed. Why did I miss it?! But, again, it didn't stop me from drinking it. After a while, my taste buds adapted and I started to enjoy it again.
I was conscious when I started to drink the beverages. I realized the taste wasn't as awesome as my brain had led me to recall. Yet, I continued to drink. I can't even say that my consciousness subsided. With each swallow, the taste became more and more appealing. I knew with each drink that my taste buds were adapting.
Sodas are a rarity for me now. I hope they will remain that way. Coffee, on the other hand, has supposed health benefits. But, I really enjoy it most with French Vanilla creamer. The creamer itself — yeah, not so healthy. I know wine has health benefits too. Maybe I'll start consuming that instead. ;)
Be open to what comes.
